連接到網際網路的，或可透過網際網路使用的。它可以形容人、服務、活動或資訊是在網路上進行或提供的。

這是日常英語裡非常常見的詞。常接在 'be', 'go', 'buy', 'study' 和 'meet' 後面，例如 'be online'、'buy online'。不要和 'on the internet' 混淆：兩者都正確，但在很多情況下 'online' 更簡潔也更常用。
