"one" in Japanese

一（いち）

Definition

１つの数字。集団の中の１人（または１つ）や順番で最初を指す時に使う。

数字としても、不定代名詞としても使います。'number one'（一番）、'one of the best'（最高の一つ）、'one by one'（一つずつ）などの表現でよく使われます。「the one」で特別な人を指すことも。

I have one apple.

私は**一**つりんごを持っています。

There is only one book on the table.

テーブルの上に**一**冊だけ本があります。

She is the first one to arrive.

彼女が最初の**一人**です。

You’re the one I was talking about.

あなたが私が話していた**その人**です。
