がんの診断や治療を専門とする医師。がん患者のためのスペシャリストです。

この言葉はがん専門医に限って使います。「私の腫瘍専門医」「腫瘍専門医の説明」などの表現で使われます。他の診療科（血液や画像診断）とは異なります。
