何かが起こる確率や可能性を表す言葉です。特に不確実性やリスクがある場合によく使います。賭け事では倍率を意味することもあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「the odds of」「the odds are」「against all odds」の形でよく使われます。日常会話では確率、賭けでは倍率の意味です。「odd（奇妙な）」とは異なるので注意しましょう。
