Definition
法律や道徳、責任感などから、何かをしなければならない状態です。自分の意思というより、しなければならない気持ちを表します。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
アメリカ英語でよく使われ、イギリス英語では'obliged'が多いです。「feel obligated」は乗り気でない気持ちも含みます。「legally obligated」は法的責任、「morally obligated」は道徳的責任を指します。「No one is obligated to ...」で「〜する義務はありません」となります。
