Definition

権威のある人や規則、命令に従って行動すること。指示されたことをその通りにする意味です。

ルールや命令、親や先生に使われることが多い。'disobeying'（従わない）と対比されることもある。

The students are obeying the teacher's instructions.

生徒たちは先生の指示に**従っています**。

Dogs are good at obeying simple commands.

犬は簡単な命令に**従う**のが得意です。
