क्रम में आठवें के बाद और दसवें से पहले आने वाला। यह किसी चीज़ के नौ बराबर हिस्सों में से एक को भी दर्शा सकता है।

यह आमतौर पर ordinal number के रूप में आता है: 'the ninth day', 'ninth place', 'ninth grade'. भिन्न के रूप में 'a ninth' या 'one ninth' कहा जाता है। इसे 'nine' से न मिलाएँ, क्योंकि वह cardinal number है।
