首（くび）

Definition

「首」の複数形で、頭と胴体をつなぐ体の部分。また、物や動物の細い部分にも使われることがある。

生物や説明する場面でよく使います。「長い首」「キリンの首」などで使われ、まれに比喩表現にもなります。

She wore necklaces around both of her necks in the costume.

彼女は衣装で両方の**首**にネックレスをかけていた。

Giraffes have very long necks.
