「より近い」は「近い」の比較級で、何かや誰かに対して距離や時間が短くなることを表します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「より/もっと近い」は二つの物や時間を比べる時に使います。「to」と一緒に使われることが多いです（例：nearer to the city）。「more nearer」は使いません。
