神話

Definition

事実ではない伝統的な物語や信念で、神々や英雄、自然現象の起源などを説明する話。広く信じられている誤った考えにも使う。

複数形で使うことが多い（例：ギリシャ神話）。誤った考えにも当てはまる（例：健康神話）。「legend（伝説）」と区別する。よく“神話を覆す”“信じる”“広める”などの動詞とセットで使う。

Many ancient myths explain how the world began.

多くの古代の**神話**は世界の始まりを説明しています。

Some people still believe in old myths about the moon.
