物や出来事、人にも頻繁に使います。たとえば『a mysterious noise（神秘的な音）』『a mysterious man（神秘的な人）』など。単なる「知らない」ではなく、好奇心やドラマチックな印象がある言葉です。「secret（秘密）」とは意味が異なります。
