多為非正式用語,指難以聽清的低聲語言,常帶有不滿或煩躁。經常和 'hear', 'caught', 'stop' 等動詞連用,表示抱怨。與 'whisper'(耳語,更柔和)和 'mumble'(含糊語)不同。
