用很小、几乎听不清的声音说话,通常是因烦恼、抱怨或自言自语。
Usage Notes (Chinese (Simplified))
多为非正式用语,指不让人清楚听见、常带有不满情绪的低声话语。常和 'hear', 'caught', 'stop' 等动词连用,表达抱怨或烦躁。不等同于 'whisper'(更柔和,带有秘密),也不同于 'mumble'(嘟囔,不清楚)。
