Definition
A lama é terra molhada e mole, normalmente formada quando a terra se mistura com água. É comum depois da chuva e pode sujar muito ou tornar o chão escorregadio.

Normalmente é um substantivo incontável: diz-se 'There is mud on your shoes', não 'muds'. Combinações frequentes: 'covered in mud', 'muddy boots' e 'stuck in the mud'. 'Mud' é um termo geral para terra molhada; 'clay' é um tipo específico de solo.
