体の中で鼻や喉、肺などが分泌する、粘り気のある液体で、組織を潤し、ほこりや細菌をとらえる働きがあります。

「粘液」は医療・科学用語として使われ、日常会話では「鼻水」や「たん」と言うことが一般的です。名詞で、複数形ではあまり使いません。「粘液性」など形容詞と混同しないよう注意してください。
