Definition

月とは、地球のまわりを回り、夜に太陽の光を反射して輝く大きな天体です。また、惑星のまわりを回る自然の衛星も指します。

通常「the moon」は地球の月を指します。科学用語では他の惑星の自然衛星も「moon」と呼ばれます。「full moon（満月）」「moonlight（月明かり）」などの表現があります。

The moon looks very bright tonight.

今夜は**月**がとても明るく見える。
