記念碑

Definition

人や出来事、歴史的な時代を記念して建てられた大きな建造物や像のことです。観光名所として有名な場合もあります。

「記念碑」は大きく重要な建造物を指し、小さな記念品や像には使いません。「歴史的記念碑」「記念碑を訪れる」などで使います。「像（statue）」とは異なります。

多くの観光客が毎年有名な**記念碑**を訪れます。
