Definition

木材やプラスチック、石膏などで作られ、壁や天井、家具の端に装飾として付ける細長い部材です。また、型に材料を入れて形を作る作業も指します。

装修や建築では「モールディング」は装飾部材の意味が多いですが、工場などでは「型に入れて成型する作業」を指すこともあります。イギリス英語では‘moulding’と書きます。
