जब कुछ गलती से या संयोग से किया जाता है, जानबूझकर नहीं।

ये शब्द औपचारिक है, आमतौर पर लिखते समय इस्तेमाल होता है और तब जब कोई काम गलती से हो जाए। ऍक्शन जानबूझकर नहीं होती। अगर शारीरिक दुर्घटना हो तो 'accidentally' का प्रयोग करें।
