メタファー（隠喩）は、何かを別のものにたとえて表現し、イメージや比較を強調する表現技法です。文学や日常会話によく使われます。

「メタファー」は単数、「メタファーズ」は複数ですが、日本語では「メタファー」または「隠喩」と表現します。文章や教育、分析など多様な場面で用いられます。「直喩（simile）」との違いに注意しましょう。
