Definition

船やボートの帆を支えるための高い柱、またはライトや旗などを掲げるための背の高い構造物のこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に船の用語で使われますが、陸上の高い柱（旗のマストやラジオのマスト）にも使います。「must」や「mask」と混同しないように注意。「main mast」「flag mast」などの表現があります。
