何かが地図で示されたり、情報やデータ、プロセスなどが分かりやすく整理または関連付けられている状態を指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

多くは「was mapped」のような受動態で使われます。地理やデータ分析、計画でよく使われ、「mapped out」は計画を立てる意味もあります。日常会話ではあまり使いません。
