Definition

আচ্ছাদন হলো ঢিলেঢালা পোশাক, যা সাধারণ পোশাকের ওপর পরে, অথবা কোনো আবরণ। বিজ্ঞানে, এটি পৃথিবীর ভূত্বক ও কেন্দ্রের মাঝে থাকা স্তর।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

আধুনিক ইংরেজিতে 'mantle' পোশাকের জন্য খুব কম ব্যবহৃত হয়; বেশি দেখা যায় বিজ্ঞান ('the Earth's mantle') বা রূপক অর্থে ('take up the mantle' = দায়িত্ব নেওয়া)। 'mantel' (ফায়ারপ্লেসের ওপরের তাক) এর সাথে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
