"majority" in Japanese

多数成年（法律用語）

Definition

グループの半数以上、または大部分を指します。また、法律的に成人とみなされる年齢も意味します。

統計、政治、投票などでよく使われます。「the majority of」の後は複数形が続きます。「plurality」とは異なり、必ずしも過半数を意味します。

The majority of students passed the exam.

学生の**多数**が試験に合格しました。

A simple majority is enough to win.

単純**多数**で勝つことができます。

The majority agreed with the new rule.

**多数**が新しいルールに賛成しました。

He won by a majority of only five votes.

彼はわずか5票の**多数**で勝利した。
