メインフレームとは、銀行や政府機関などの大規模な組織が、大量のデータを処理・保存するために使用する大型コンピュータです。

「メインフレーム」はITや大規模組織の場面で使われる専門用語です。一般的なパソコンやサーバーには使いません。「メインフレームコンピュータ」とも言います。
