マエストロとは、オーケストラの指揮者や音楽・芸術分野で高く評価される優れた専門家のことです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にクラシック音楽分野の指揮者に使われますが、芸術の分野で優れた人物にも使われます。フォーマルで尊敬の意味合いが強く、日常的には使いません。「maestro」は一般的な先生には使いません。
