動力を使って作業を行う動く部品を持つ装置。家庭用のものから工場の大型設備まで幅広く含まれます。

「machine」の複数形。「washing machine」「operate machines」「heavy machinery」などの表現とよく使われる。「machinery」は機械全体や産業用設備を表すことが多い（通常は数えない）。

The factory has many machines.

工場にはたくさんの**機械**があります。
