शारीरिक क्रिया ('lowers his head'), मात्रा या स्तर के लिए ('lowers the price') और भावनाओं के लिए भी ('lowers expectations') इस्तेमाल होता है। यह वर्तमान काल की तीसरी व्यक्ति एकवचन रूप है। 'lowest' (सबसे कम) या 'flowers' (फूल) से भ्रमित न हों। सामान्य वाक्यांश: 'lowers her voice', 'lowers the temperature'।
