傳說是指流傳於文化、團體或社羣中的知識、故事或傳統，尤其關於神話、傳說或習俗。通常代表傳統智慧或資訊。

“Lore” 是較正式或文學用詞，常用於討論神話、歷史、民俗或奇幻故事。在科學或現代知識中不使用。常與「地方的」、「古老的」、「民間的」等詞搭配。口語很少用到。
