Definition

物の長さや時間の長さが、他と比べて大きいことを表します。長さや期間の両方について使います。

「longer」は「long」の比較級で、「than」と一緒に使い比較を表します（例：'This is longer than that'）。時間やモノの長さなど、さまざまな場面で使われます。「more long」は誤り。「no longer」は「もはや～ない」という意味。

This rope is longer than the other one.

このロープは他のより**長い**です。

Can you stay a little longer?

もう少し**長く**いられる？

My hair is longer now.
