何かの場所や位置を表す時に使われます。また、探していた物が見つかった場合にも使われます。

'is located'は「〜にある」「〜に位置している」という意味でフォーマルや説明文に多いです。日常会話では、単に「ある」「いる」などがよく使われます。動詞としては「見つけた」の意味もあります。

The school is located near the park.
