Definition

死斑とは、死亡後に血液が体の下部にたまり、皮膚が暗紫色や青紫色に変色する現象を指します。主に法医学で死亡時刻や死後の体位を判別するために使われます。

非常に専門的な医療・法医学用語で、日常会話には登場しません。「死斑」や「死後斑」として用いられます。英語でいう 'postmortem lividity' や 'lividity marks' に相当します。

The doctor explained that lividity helps determine when a person died.

医師は**死斑**が死亡推定時刻を判断する助けになると説明した。
