唇ふち (物の縁)

Definition

唇は口のまわりにある二つの柔らかい部分のひとつです。また、物の縁や端が少し突き出ている部分を指すこともあります。

通常は体の部分（上唇、下唇、口紅）に使います。「唇を噛む」は感情をこらえる意味。物の「ふち」はカップや崖の端などを指します。

She put red color on her lips.

彼女は自分の**唇**に赤い色を塗った。

His lip is dry in winter.

冬は彼の**唇**が乾燥します。
