Definition

「線」は細長い印やマークです。人やものの並びや、文章や詩の行、また電話線などの意味でも使われます。

「線を引く」は「draw lines」の意味。「順番を待つ」ときは「並ぶ」「列に並ぶ」と言う。「read between the lines」は直訳せず文脈を読むこと。「セリフを覚える」は「lines」を使う。

The child drew two straight lines on the paper.

子供が紙にまっすぐな**線**を二本引いた。
