「limb」とは、人や動物の腕や脚、または木の大きな枝のことです。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
医学や科学分野で腕や脚を指すことが多いです。慣用句「go out on a limb」は「リスクを取る」という意味。「life and limb」は「命と体の安全」を指します。細い枝や指には使いません。
