Definition

立法とは、法律を作ること、または制定された法律の集まりのことです。

主に法律や公的な場面で使われます。「legislationを通過させる」「新しいlegislationを提案する」「environmental legislation」のような表現に使います。単なる「law」や「regulation」と混同しないよう注意。

The government passed new legislation last year.

政府は昨年、新しい**立法**を可決しました。

Legislation protects workers' rights.
