수많은 사람이나 사물을 뜻하며, 원래는 고대 로마 군대의 대규모 부대를 가리킵니다.

주로 문어체나 격식 있는 상황에서 'legions of fans'처럼 아주 많은 것을 나타낼 때 쓰입니다. 실제 군사적 의미로는 거의 쓰이지 않습니다.
