Definition

大学や専門機関で教える人、または聴衆に向けて講義や講演を行う人。

主にイギリスや学術機関で、教授より下の教員に使われます。アメリカでは主に“professor”ですが、非常勤や招待教員に“lecturer”が使われることもあります。一般向けの講演者にも使われます。
