'Lays' वर्तमान काल में, तीसरे व्यक्ति एकवचन के लिए है। वस्तुओं को रखने (‘lays the book’) या अंडे देने (‘the bird lays eggs’) के लिए आम है। 'lie' (लेटना) या 'lays out' (सजाना) से भ्रम न करें।
