Definition

法律是由政府或權威機構制定的正式規定，說明人們可以或不可以做什麼。它也可以指自然界或科學中始終成立的普遍原理。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))

"Law" 可指某一具體法令（如“a new law”），也可泛指整個法律體系（如“study law”）。在科學上指普遍公理（如“laws of physics”）。常與“rule”混淆，“rule”多指非正式規則。常見詞組："break the law"，"pass a law"，"under the law"，"by law"。
