'Lay' को 'lie' से भ्रमित न करें। 'Lay' के साथ आमतौर पर object आता है, यानी आप किसी चीज़ को कहीं रखते हैं। सामान्य प्रयोग: 'laid the book on the table', 'laid the baby in bed', 'laid eggs'. 'Laid-back' एक अलग adjective है, जिसका अर्थ अलग होता है।
