Definition

鍵は、錠を開ける小さな道具です。また、非常に重要な部分や答え、キーボードのボタン、音楽の調も意味します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

どの意味かは文脈で判断します。「key role」「key to ～」は比喩的に「重要な」「～のカギ」、音楽では「調」にもなります。複数の「keys」はよく使います。
