持續擁有或控制某物。也可以表示繼續做某事或使某物保持某種狀態。

在正式和非正式場合都常用。常與'promise'(承諾)、'secret'(祕密)、'peace'(和平)等名詞搭配，也用於'keep doing something'(繼續做某事)。可能與'hold'(握住)或'save'(保存)混淆，但'keep'強調持續擁有或狀態。
