他人が持っているものや注目、関係などを自分も欲しいと感じて不安や不満になる気持ち。恋愛関係だけでなく、他人の成功や持ち物に対しても使います。

よく 'of' や 'about' と組み合わせて使い、『jealous of her success』『jealous about the attention he gets』のように表現されます。恋愛関係の独占欲を表す場合が多いですが、成功などへの羨望にも使います。
