مساحات من اليابسة محاطة بالكامل بالماء، وهي أصغر من القارات. "Islands" هي جمع لكلمة "island".

Usage Notes (Arabic)

يُستخدم 'islands' للإشارة إلى أكثر من جزيرة أو مجموعة جزر. من التراكيب الشائعة: 'tropical islands'، 'remote islands'، 'group of islands'. لا تخلط بينها وبين 'isles' (أسلوب شعري) أو 'islets' (جزر صغيرة جداً).
