Definition
Introducir un tubo en las vías respiratorias de una persona (generalmente la tráquea) para ayudarla a respirar, normalmente durante una cirugía o en emergencias.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Usado casi exclusivamente en contextos médicos, especialmente en hospitales. Normalmente lo realizan médicos o paramédicos. Opuesto: 'extubar' (quitar el tubo). Expresión común: 'intubar a un paciente'. No se usa para tubos no médicos.
