‘आंतें’ हमेशा बहुवचन में प्रयोग होती हैं। चिकित्सा भाषा में 'छोटी आंत' और 'बड़ी आंत' अलग-अलग हिस्से हैं। आम बोलचाल में लोग कभी-कभी 'पेट' भी बोलते हैं।
