Tat, heyecan veya ilgi çekicilikten yoksun olan şeyleri anlatır. Genellikle yiyecek ya da sıkıcı görülen konular için kullanılır.

Daha çok formal ve eleştirel bir dilde geçer. 'insipid food', 'insipid performance' gibi ifadelerde kullanılır. Yoğun olumsuzluk içermez; unutulabilirlik ve sıradanlığı vurgular.
