Definition

একজন ব্যক্তি যিনি অপরাধ করার জন্য আদালত কর্তৃক কারাগারে বন্দি। কখনও কখনও এটি হাসপাতালে বা পুনর্বাসন কেন্দ্রে থাকা ব্যক্তিকেও বোঝাতে পারে, তবে সাধারণত এটি কারাগারের বন্দিকেই প্রকাশ করে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

সাধারণত কারাগারের বন্দিকে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'prison inmate' বা শুধু 'inmate' খবর ও আইনি বিষয়ে প্রচলিত। 'mate'-এর সঙ্গে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
