人の目では見えないが、熱として感じることができる光の一種で、可視光線の赤色の外側に位置します。

主に形容詞（例：赤外線カメラ）や名詞（例：赤外線を検出する）として使います。科学や技術、電子機器の分野でよく使われます。人間の目には見えません。「赤色の光」とは異なるので注意してください。

The remote control uses infrared light to work.
